secrets of a 4 year old heart

Yesterday morning, as I was braiding Leah's hair (a very rare occurrence in and of itself!), she stated that she had a secret to tell me. She had to be sure that she whispered it right in my ear, because she didn't want anyone else to hear (though the only other person in the house was Kaden and he was clearly occupied with his toy train).

"Mommy. I love Cole T."

What a sweet little child. I didn't tell her that her love for Cole isn't really a secret. And I'm sure not going to tell her that mommy blogged about it.

Little Miss Thing modeling one of her new outfits from Totsie. I can't WAIT to get her photographed in this "professionally."

videos

I think I made reference a while back to some videos of Hannah's narration at the school program. Posting them, primarily for the benefit of Torrie & Mike, since neither of them were in attendance.

for karie

Last night as I was preparing dinner, Leah & Kaden were playing in the front room.

Leah: Mommy, look! We're playing library.

Kaden: Yeah. We play lib-ary.

Me: Ooh, that sounds like fun. Are you going to get a lot of books?

Leah: Mmm hmm.

*Silence as they carted ALL the books out of the book cabinet and stacked them on the table.*

Leah: MOMMY!

Me: What?

Leah: We're playing library. And Kaden is Cole T. (Big grin.)

Kaden: Yeah. Me Cole T. (Said while sporting an even bigger grin.)

How can that not make you smile? That Cole is something special, let me tell you ... he's sure made an impression on my two little ones!

just need to blog

Things got kind of quiet around here after the rush of picture posts, eh?

I'm so in love with the batch of pictures of Leah & Kaden from IMA ... and now I'm ready to see how everyone looks in their holiday finery. I think that all of the outfits have arrived, courtesy of Totsie. Now if I can just schedule some time with our master photographer, we can get some Christmas pictures ready! (Hint, hint Dolly!)

something for leah's future

Since I'm out of new photos to share, and have nothing good of my own to share, I'll post this funny link that I got from Jennie. I can totally see this in Leah's future, though I expect it will be Papaw who takes the initiative. He's already keen on finding out what Cole's "intentions" are ....

Let's! Go! Colts!!

Way to pull out a win over the Steelers!

Mike wasn't home, so I didn't get to witness him pouting, but Cody did a very adequate job as his stand in. He did his Dad proud.

from dolly's camera

Here are some pictures from the same photo shoot seen here, from Dolly's point of view. I'm sorry to say that I didn't snag a copy of her slide photos, but I'll try to get those, since I know Nunny really liked that one.

rocco mama

Our kids were all very interested in the election proceedings. Cody & Hannah were watching the news with me yesterday morning and Hannah was so excited to talk about the "voting" they did at school. So this morning, the kids were full of questions about who the next President was going to be. Leah kept referring to "Rocco." I tried to correct her, and she just continued to insist that the President-elect's name was Rocco.

In the meantime, Kaden was down the hall telling Mike that "Barack Omama won." Obama, he tried to correct. Kaden said, a la Leah, "Daddy. Say Ma." Ma. "Barack O-MA-ma."

So, congratulations to Rocco Momma, our new President-Elect.

*Back to picture posting tomorrow.*

I told you there were lots of great pictures on the way!
We're having a flash back to some July photos that were recently developed.
Enjoy, and check back for some more recent pictures tomorrow.

Spells Halloween!

Here are Leah & Kaden with Papaw, who donned his scare-the-kids-garb again this year. Kaden kept saying "Papaw, you a skeleton."

Trying to get little Miss Leah to smile. I wanted to get a good shot of all of the glitter she smeared on her face ...

and a smile eventually came with it, after mentioning her favorite friend, Cole.

And here's the whole gang. Impossible to get a picture where they are all smiling like normal people, but this is the best of the bunch.

for dolly

Don't ask me what I'm celebrating, because I can't quite recall. Let's just say that I'm thrilled with the warmer turn of the weather, and thrilled to have several days worth of pictures of the kids to share. I'm going to try to post in moderation, so that I can make Torrie's daily trips to the blog worth while. Check back this afternoon for pictures from Halloween .....
