October: a month in pictures

Leah officially bridged from Daisies to Brownies this Saturday. She's super excited to start earning patches for her new Brownie vest, but posed for some last pics in the Daisy blue.

And with this wonderful summer weather comes the chance to enjoy some outdoor dining!

K-Man's 5th Birthday ... the extended celebration

Kaden turned the big 5 last month. He had a bit of an extended birthday celebration, starting on Sunday and running through his actual birthday on Wednesday. Sunday morning, we hit the bowling alley with Dolly, Jason, Papaw, Totsie, Hannah, Cody, Karlie, Mikey, and Milie. The kids had so much fun!!

Ok, this is about the only picture I managed to snag of Mikey while bowling. Note his hand gesture ... I'm hoping it wasn't intentional (lol).

Wow. Leah looks a little rough in this picture ... I promise that no one, not even the adults, had been hitting the beer....

After bowling, we went back to our house for Rock Star pizza (Kaden's favorite) and Power Rangers birthday cake.

And presents, of course.

Kaden's favorite colors are still red and blue. So the matching harmonicas from Daddy were a hit!

The celebration continued on his actual birthday. He took cupcakes to school to share with his friends, and we had another cake, this one home-made by Dolly.

What's better than strawberry Smartie cake? More presents, of course!

All in all, Kaden had a very nice, very long, birthday celebration. Welcome to 5 Little Man!

warm enough for the park!

A co-worker of mine had two extra tickets to Blue's Birthday Party at Beef & Boards. Since Kaden's birthday was coming up, I opted to take him and have some Mommy-Kaden time. Kaden got to pick a stuffed Blue out from the gift shop, and then we hit our seats to wait for the show and enjoy our juice boxes and Rice Krispie treats.

Kaden opted not to participate in the photo op with Blue after the show, but he had a really good time.

After we got back home and picked Leah up from Papaw & Totsie's we made plans to hit the park with our friends Karlie, Mikey, and Milie. It was an unseasonably warm day, and almost all of the snow had finally melted, and the kids took full advantage!

When the sun started to go down, the kids got a little chilly, so it was back to our house for pizza and play time. Caught this picture of Kaden & Mikey just before it was time to leave.
