fireworks, take 2

Sunday came and did not start as sunny and warm as the weather people predicted. But just in time for our cook-out at Amy's, the sun came out, the temperature rose, and we were ready for take 2! After stuffing ourselves at Amy's, we loaded some extra food, drinks, and all 11 kids & 7 adults into vehicles & snagged our spot at the Zoo parking lot. Then, the Domino's man showed up! Did someone actually order a pizza from the Zoo parking lot? No, said Mike. I'll bet he's just got a bunch of pizza that he's selling. Bingo! And after passing on the initial offer, we decided that we actually WERE hungry! Emily, holding our fresh pizza:
As the parking lot started to fill up, the kids started to get a little antsy since they no longer had tons of room to run. So out came the bubbles!

And then it finally got dark enough for the sparklers!

No pictures of Kaden with the sparklers because he wanted nothing to do with them. And unfortunately, no pictures of the fireworks because I temporarily broke my camera. (Special thanks to Dad for knocking it back into working order!)

All in all, we had a WONDERFUL holiday weekend, despite the rain!
