We started our 4th off bright & early! I baked some fresh blueberry muffins, everyone got dressed, and we headed to Amy's and walked together to watch the town parade, with the threat of rain looming over us. We staked our claim in the road (once the police blocked it, of course) and assumed candy-grabbing positions.
Kaden, cheesing for the camera:

Zoey putting her smile on:

Zoey & Kaden both have difficulty getting their shoes on the correct feet. Here's Zoey, sporting 2 right shoes :-) It sure doesn't seem to slow her down!

Natalie, smiling for us:

Leah wanted her picture taken with Mommy ... so sweet!
I have a feeling that won't last too much longer ....

We followed that up with a picture of Zoey & her mommy!

Hannah & Cody waiting for action:

Lydia:

Most of our gang
Kaden, Leah, Ryan, Cody's arm, Hannah, Lainey, Zoey, & Amy.

Ava really liked waving her flag, especially to the music.

And then came the moment Kaden had been waiting for.
The firemen.

He took a perch on Daddy's shoulders so he could wave to them:

And he was a happy little boy to have them wave back!

This picture is for Papaw:
Despite some drizzly rain off & on throughout the parade, we all had a very nice time. Last year we got REALLY wet during the parade, so this year was an improvement. Unfortunately, as the parade ended, the rain moved in and the rest of our day was to be ill-fated ....
