As a kid, I think you hear the "grown-ups" talk about how time flies by and how much things change, and you just can't believe it. You're stuck being a kid ... you can't drive, you can't drink, you can't make the rules, etc. Then you hit the other side and realize that all those adults were right!
Tomorrow Mike & I will celebrate our 4 year anniversary. We've come a long way in the last four years. Lots of joys. Lots of sorrows and crap that I wouldn't wish on anyone else. But we've weathered the storms and are still alive to talk about it. The last two years have been a little tougher than the first two, but that's probably to be expected. We've got our eyes on happier times ahead and continue to make excellent strides in that direction. No big plans, but it looks like we'll manage to have some time just the two of us, which is a rarity. Here's to dinner as adults (i.e. no children present and a nice mixed drink for mom) and maybe a stroll on the canal.
