I thrive on order. Organization. Some semblance of routine.
And I am totally lacking that right now.
We started Kaden's breathing treatments on Saturday evening, and it's amazing how much time those take! I think that the challenge of getting a 2 year old to sit still and cooperate makes the time stretch infinitely, and it's hard to concentrate your energies on that while still keeping 3 other kids on task to get ready in the morning or get ready for bed. But we've managed to juggle everything else, and this is just one more thing to perfect and incorporate into our routine.
We had a very productive weekend. Saturday after we packed up the yard sale items, we joined our neighbor and her kids (plus 2 that she was babysitting) at the park and had a blast. They're very nice people and the kids all get along well - here's hoping we get to spend some more time with Mark & Jen. Saturday after dinner I was able to plant the flowers my mom gave me into the flower boxes on the deck. Sunday the kids actually let us sleep in until almost 10:00!! Thanks to Mike's brother, we were able to remulch the kids play area in the back yard, create a little mulched area next to the play shed for the sandbox, plant some flowers & mulch the flower beds ... it was great! It felt nice to have everyone outdoors and get the yard cleaned up so the kids can play. Only a few tasks left on Mike's to-do list for the back ... including the assembly of our new swingset!!
After all the activity on Sunday, the kids got to go out and ride their bikes some more. Here are a couple of pictures of Leah riding her bike - she's so darn cute!
Kaden continues to tolerate his breathing treatments fairly well. He even likes to hold his own mask every once in a while. He started coughing on Sunday afternoon, so we went straight into our "emergency plan" with increased number of treatments - 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. And I've noticed a difference. Where before he would start coughing and it would last for weeks, his cough is almost already gone! The proof is in the pudding, right?
In other news, Cody has lost another tooth (when oh when are his top teeth going to grow back?) and had his last day of school yesterday. Hannah's last day of school is today. They're super excited, to say the least! Summer, here we come!
