Saturday I was at work during the day and Mike and the kids reportedly had a good day. Hannah apparently exchanged phone numbers with a little girl up the street and this little girl called Hannah 8 TIMES while I was at work on Saturday. We sat down to dinner Saturday night and the phone rang ... it was this little girl. We didn't answer because we were eating ... as soon as this little girl finished leaving her message, the phone rang again. Same girl. Message, hang up, phone rings. AACCKK. Where is this child's mother? So I gave in and answered the phone. Told her Hannah was eating. Oh, ok, have her call me. Wow.
Sunday we made a trip to Sam's to stock the fridge, then tried to go to Sprint to upgrade our phones. How convenient is it that the Brownsburg store is closed on Sunday's? Oh well, gave Mike time to mow the front lawn before he went tux shopping with Scott. Yes folks, that's right, they finally went to look. And OMG, this is going to hurt the pocket book more than I thought. The decision has been made that not only will Mike be in the wedding, but Kaden is pegged as the ring bearer. And because he's so young, he's deemed unreliable. So they've decided to have Cody as a second ring bearer, I guess to ride herd on Kaden (though I think Cody might be more distractable than Kaden!). Did you count the number of tuxes there? Re-read if you have to ...
Yes, that's 3. THREE. TROIS. As in too many. Don't get me wrong, I'm very glad that Scott & Jess are including everyone. Avoids hurt feelings, and it'll be a very nice family experience. But at $179 for Mike's AND Cody's (that's right, a 7 year old has to pay full price), plus $70 to buy one for Kaden ... yikes! The government better get that stimulus check into my bank account soon!!
So after that, we had a quick dinner and were off to the softball fields. His fellow team-mates really seem to enjoy having the Russell clan there, and the kids are still doing surprisingly well given that there's no playground, etc. I thought the team might actually win this week ... but alas, their hopes were dashed yet again. Maybe if they find time to actually practice .... Got home and put everyone straight to bed (don't get me started on L&K's bedtime routine - nothing to add to
Erin's Mama Monday thread this week, but I'm hoping to get some pointers!) ... note that there were 3 - 4 new messages from Hannah's friend on the machine, most of them only 1 - 2 minutes apart!!Got off to a good start this morning. Found a great recipe for chocolate chip muffins on allrecipes.com last night and made those for breakfast this morning. Out the door close to on time ... we'll see how tonight goes!

Oh my. If you want to try to nix one tux, you can share our recent ring bearer experience. Kaden seems to be far more relaxed/outgoing than Ryan, yet Ryan made it down the aisle all by himself.... Especially if you sit near the front and kind of encourage him to come to you! Also, if they don't care about Kaden's tux matching EXACTLY, there are some super cute, cheaper toddler tuxes on ebay. Many places sell them in various sizes, so Kaden and Cody could still match each other.
um... wheres my chocolate muffin?
